Why base yourself in the Centro Histórico
Staying inside Málaga's old town means the Cathedral, the Picasso Museum, the Roman Theatre, the Alcazaba and the tapas bars of Calle Larios are all within a five-to-ten-minute walk of your door. Boutique hotels here trade big-chain uniformity for character: converted palaces, small room counts and rooftops that look straight onto the monuments. Getting there: airport to the old town
The cheapest and fastest way in from Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport is the C-1 Cercanías commuter train. A single ticket costs €1.80, the ride takes roughly 12 minutes, and trains run about every 20 minutes from around 06:44 to 00:54. Ride to the end of the line, Málaga Centro-Alameda, the most central stop — from there it is about a 5-minute walk to Plaza de la Constitución and Calle Larios, putting every hotel below within easy reach on foot.
Palacio Solecio
